Bio

After graduating from Community High School in May of 1972, I immediately began my college experience at Motlow State Community College.  My initial plans were to obtain a one year certificate in Secretarial Science.  Upon experiencing success on the college level, I decided to finish my Associates degree in Secretarial Science.  After my graduation from Motlow in 1974, I entered the workforce as a secretary.  It didn't take me long to realize that being a secretary wasn't what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.  I entered MTSU in the fall of 1976 and started working on a Bachelors degree in teaching.  After graduating in 1978, I applied for teaching positions, but there were no openings in Business Education.  I worked for the next two years as a secretary until a position was open.  In order to get the job, I had to return to college in the summer of 1980 and complete my certification in English.  I was hired as a Business / English teacher at Cascade High School where I spent the next seven years.  In the fall of 1987, I transferred to Community High School as a middle and high school English / Reading teacher.  I spent the next thirteen years in this position.  In the fall of 2000, I became the Library Media Specialist at Community High School -- The Best School . . . . . . Period!!
