Under the guidance of instructor Chris Hobbs, Criminal Justice-II students from #CommunityHighSchool recently showcased their skills in a local C.T.E. competition focused on mock traffic stops.
During the event, #students were required to simultaneously:
✅ Communicate accurate radio traffic;
✅ Follow correct protocol & procedures;
✅ Maintain officer safety at all times;
✅ Conclude with a professional warning, citation or arrest.

Seniors from the Clinical Internship at #CommunityHighSchool, guided by instructor Kaycee Martin, teamed up with 1st graders at #CartwrightElementarySchool recently to kick off the students’ #STEAM project on the Human Body! 🧠💪
The interns shared the 5 Keys to Wellness—sleep, exercise, healthy eating, hygiene and regular doctor visits—and led hands-on activities where these young #students practiced brushing teeth, effective handwashing ✋, exercises for a strong body 🏃♂️ and stretches for better sleep 🛌.
It was inspiring to see #students at different stages of learning working together, sharing knowledge and building healthy habits as a team! 💛
These experiences show how collaboration across grade levels can make learning fun, meaningful and memorable for everyone involved. 🌟

Recently #CommunityHighSchool’s Leadership class launched an exciting new project: Creating Community!
This initiative is designed to connect current high school leaders with 8th graders at #CommunityMiddleSchool to help build relationships and create a bridge to high school. 🙌
To kick things off, the Leadership Class welcomed the future high schoolers with small-group activities and lunch together. The day was filled with enthusiasm as participants engaged in conversations and learned more about life at the high school. 🎉
Monthly visits are planned throughout the year, all focused on strengthening connections and providing support as these #students prepare for their transition.

Recently, #CascadeHighSchool #FCCLA members rolled up their sleeves to make a difference! 💪❤️ Together with the nonprofit Sleep in Heavenly Peace, they spent Saturday morning building beds for local children who don’t have one of their own.
These beds mean more than just a good night’s sleep—they bring comfort, security and dignity to kids right here in our community. 🛏️💤
As Sleep in Heavenly peace reminds us: “No kid sleeps on the floor in our town!” And thanks to the hard work of our amazing #students, more children will now have a safe place to rest their heads. 🌟

We are excited to share that Shelbyville has officially advanced to Phase 2 of the Levitt AMP Music Series Grant! 🙌 This competitive program could bring up to $120,000 over the next three years to fund 30 FREE, family-friendly concerts 🎉👨👩👧👦 in the new Riverview District, right by our historic square.
The Levitt AMP Music Series is a 🌟 national program 🌟 that helps towns like ours transform public spaces into gathering places filled with music🎶, fun🎈, and community spirit❤️. Families, neighbors and friends of all ages will be able to come together and enjoy live performances right here in Bedford County!
