🌟 Celebrating Exceptional Growth! 🌟

At their November school board meeting, #BedfordCountySchools recognized outstanding 1st and 2nd grade teachers whose students reached Level 4 and Level 5 growth on the Universal Reading Screener for the 2024–2025 school year! 📚✨

Each fall, #students take the Universal Reading Screener, which measures key literacy skills including phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension. They take it again in the spring, and the results highlight just how much students have grown.

These teachers have guided their students to remarkable growth, showing the power of dedication, effective instruction and a strong commitment to literacy success. #Congratulations to these exceptional educators! Their work is helping students become confident, capable readers every day.

✨ Highlighting Innovative Learning in Health Science Education ✨

Students in Kaycee Martin’s Health Science Education class at #CommunityHighSchool recently welcomed two special guest speakers from UT Southern, Dr. Gennifer Moon and Dr. Karen Ferguson. These guests were particularly meaningful to Mrs. Martin, as they previously served as her nursing professors during her own training.💜💛

During their visit, the presenters guided #students through the evolution of public health, sharing a timeline of significant milestones and key historical developments. Students also engaged in a guided web exploration to learn more about major disease outbreaks that have shaped public health practices across the world.🌍🔍

As representatives of UT Southern, they also brought UT Southern-branded items for all students to enjoy.

We want to send a #ThankYou to UT Southern and the guest speakers for providing valuable real-world insight and enhancing our students’ learning experiences. 🫶
