Education/work history
I grew up on three different farms in the Curlee community in Cannon County. I attended Westside in Readyville from first to eighth grade; then CC High School in Woodbury, and MTSU in Murfreesboro where I completed a chemistry BS with a math minor in 1996. I worked on farms (milked cows, milked goats, planted beans, hung tobacco...) and hired to haul hay for 'gas money' during HS. I worked at restaurants during college. After graduation I worked in an environmental lab for almost 26 years. I ‘retired’ to teach in 2022 working full time teaching high school ten minutes from home.
